"I want ice cream!" She screamed at the man while jumping up and down, "If you're out than you shouldn't be open! Now give me ice cream!"
"I told you, young lady, we just ran out." He said calmly, yet irritated, "Now please, leave."
"Fine!" She screamed while stomping out the door and slamming it. "Stupid ice cream man, stupid cute blond boy, stupid black cloak, stupid, stupid, stupid!"

Hope was just skipping along, trying to find someone to share with. She had just come from the ice cream shop, but since they only had two left, they gave her one free. She knew she couldn't eat it all, so she decided to share. Soon, she saw another person who was obviously upset. That was the perfect person to share with. Hope ran up to her and held out the ice cream, explaining the story about why she was sharing, and smiled.

JJ was confused. This was the person who got the last ice cream? Should she be mad? Or glad? Or both?
She stared at the ice cream, mouth slightly open and drooling.
"Thank you!" She cried taking the ice cream with a giant smile and sucking on it. JJ could never stay mad for long. "I wuv ife cream!"

"I love you for loving to share!" She said, beaming, "I just went into that ice cream shop, and the man was so rude! He said they were out of ice cream! And I'm like, 'It's the middle of the day! How can you be out of ice cream?' And he's like, 'I've had a lot of business.' And I'm like, 'No you haven't!' And he's like, 'Yeah I have!' And I'm like, 'I've been outside deciding if I wanted ice cream for an hour.' And he told me to go away!"

Hope's pink eyes glittered with a happiness that almost rivaled hers. "Actually he has had a lot of business today. It took standing in line a long time for me to get any."

"Huh?" JJ was confused. She hadn't seen any line, "There was a line? How come I didn't see it?"
JJ cocked her head to the side before looking around to figure out how she hadn't seen it.

"So... JJ, are you one of us?" Can a question later after some silence. Hope was referring to the Pariah, the freaks of the Nothing.
