"Well, I wanted to tell you. I feel like I can trust you." She gulped hard. "I did it to myself, so that every time I looked in the mirror I could remind myself of what a monster I really am."

"Isis..." Elroy trailed off. He didn't even know where to begin. There were so many things he wanted to ask, wanted to say... he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Finally he settled with something that summed up his feelings on the matter pretty well. He reached across the table, placing his own velvet soft hand on hers and looked directly into her eyes. "Regardless of what happened in your past, you are not a monster. You have been nothing but a kind, gentle being to me in the few short hours I've know you, despite the fact that I do come across as a know-it-all. We all have our secrets, we all have our sins. They make us who we are. For some it really does make them monsters. But you... you cannot be. Monsters do not have the level of beauty and kindness that you do."

"Just wait until the moon changes..." she trailed off. Staring at the table she sighed before bringing her happy facade back up. "Thank you, Elroy. You sure know how to make a girl feel better." She faked a happy swig of her carbonated beverage before shooting him a smile.

Elroy could tell by how quickly her mood changed that the happiness was just a mask. Still, he didn't persist. If she no longer wished to speak of it, that was fine by him. He wasn't about to pester her about it. So he too took a sip of his drink and gave her an almost loving smile. "Believe it or not, that's the first time anyone's ever said that about me."
"Now, Isis." He started after a bit of silence. "What are you looking for in the underground? Or are you just wanting us to explore? I don't mind either way,as I enjoy your company. I'm just curious."

"Well, I just thought we could explore. I dunno about you, but I've never been to his place before and I'd like a look around." she smiled at his curiosity.

"I've been here for a while now, and there where only two things I hadn't done." He stated, taking another sip of his wine. "One was take someone up on the station tower. The other was explore the underground tunnels. You allowed me to complete the first one earlier. I'm glad that I'll get the chance to explore the underground with someone as lovely as you."
It didn't take long after that for the waiter to return with their food. The man sat the plates down in front of them before leaving once again. "It looks just as delicious as usual." Elroy stated. However, he didn't pick up his fork. He wanted to make sure she liked what she was eating before hand. That way, if she didn't he could take her somewhere else, and not be sad about not finishing his pasta.

She blushed and smiled at the sweet, blue-haired man across from her. After the waiter set the food down, she thanked him and began eating, not saying a word. Why would she, she was too busy stuffing her face.

After seeing that she was indeed going to eat it, he picked up his fork and began to eat. He did, however, have to pause after the first bite, as not to overload himself with the deliciousness. The moment passed and resumed eating, not realizing how fast he was eating.
It surprised him when he finished it so quickly. He by no means inhaled it, he just ate it quicker than usual. It took him a minute to realize why. He didn't eat yesterday. The blue-haired man had been so wrapped up in his study that it completely slipped his mind. No wonder his mom always worried so much. "Good food tastes even better when you finally realize that you haven't eaten in a day." He chuckled as he laid his napkin neatly on his plate.

She answered after she did the same. "Why haven't you eaten in a day? Too busy doing 'research?'" she asked, almost giggling at the academic man.

Elroy smiled and scratched the back of his head, almost as if he was nervous. "Yes. I do that a lot actually, with no one around to remind me to eat. I've gone several days in a row before. Nearly a week in fact. Then I nearly collapsed in the halls of the hotel I was in on my way out." A faint hint of embarrassment laced his voice as he talked. "It's a little stupid actually..."

"Well," she began setting her hands on the table, "that settles it. I'm gonna travel with you. That way you can at least be reminded to eat regularly."

"Traveling with you AND getting to eat daily? Sounds like my kind of plan." He replied, a soft smile returning.
The waiter returned with the bill, Elroy paid it, and stood up. "Now, I've been staying at a small hotel down the road. I know the manager well and if you'd like, I can get you a room wherever you want."

"Sounds great." she smiled warmly at him as they left. "I actually hadn't thought of were I was gonna stay." She almost chuckled as she looked up at the slowly rising moon. It was a waxing crescent. Only a couple of weeks left. she thought.

"Well, aren't you lucky you ran into me then." The man laughed as he held every door they came to for her. "Now, not only do you not have to worry about figuring it out, you won't have to pay a cent for the room. Now, do you want first, second or third floor? I'm on the third floor. It's quieter up there."

"I'd like a room near yours." she said, breaking her stare at the satellite. "Thank you for the wonderful time today."
